Prototype Q1 2028: 12 MP, titanium and a model in the frame
Target spec for the first working prototype: graphite titanium, 12 MP camera, on-device inference, all-day charge.
We put the first working Smartocule Glass prototype in Q1 2028. It is not a series and not a beta in a crowd’s pocket — it is hardware you can wear, walk a street and not take off after twenty minutes.
Target specification: a HUD of about 30°, a 12 MP camera at the hinge, an on-device model with no always-on wake phrase, a graphite titanium frame, all-day charge. The cloud is an option, not a condition of work.
Before that: 2027 Q2 — camera and model together, 2027 Q4 — industrial design freeze, 2028 Q4 — closed beta, 2029 — a limited series. Dates are a lab horizon, not a shop-shelf promise.
Why so long. Waveguide, heat, weight and privacy do not assemble in one quarter. We prefer an honest 2028 to a mock-up that photographs well and wears badly.
